Clinical Prerequisite(s):
Provision of relevant, clinical information is important to ensure a clinically relevant result
Always provide/report:
•  specimen source - specify left or right eye
•  current antibiotic therapy and start date
•  clinical history - symptoms, signs and their duration
•  Is filamentous fungi/mold culture required?

Routine diagnosis of Chlamydia trachomatis & Neisseria gonorrhoeae is performed by nucleic amplification testing.  Different collection kits are required  For more information, refer to Chlamydia and Gonorrhoeae screen (Calgary/South)

Culture for Neisseria gonorrhoeae is performed routinely for neonates (<3 months of age), or if specifically requested.  Refer to Neisseria gonorrhoeae culture (Calgary/South)
