Provision of relevant clinical information is important to ensure a clinically relevant result. Always provide: • Clinical history (symptoms, signs, duration) • Antimicrobial history • Does the patient use contact lenses? • Is the patient immunocompromised: - chronic infection? - on steroid/other immunosupressive therapy? - post-transplant? - hematological/other maligancy?

DO NOT reject the specimen(s). Contact the Microbiologist-on-call if there are specimen deficiencies
