Comments:
NOTES:  
  1. hsCRP specimens normally routed to Edmonton Hub Lab (Base Lab) only, are being temporarily routed to the University of Alberta Hospital (UAH) Core Chemistry Laboratory and performed on the Roche (hsCRP assay).

  2. The preferred tube type at each testing site is acceptable at the alternate sites

1 mL serum or lithium heparin plasma

No reference interval available
Interpret according to most recent cardiovascular clinical practice guidelines

Comments:
Levels of CRP greater than 8 mg/L likely indicate active inflammation or the presence of a chronic inflammatory condition, which can invalidate the prediction of coronary risk
